Delete Your Forkyt Account
Forkyt Inc. (“Forkyt,” “we,” “us”) lets you request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.
How to delete your account
In the app (fastest):
-
Open Forkyt and go to Settings
-
Tap Account → Delete Account
-
Confirm the deletion when prompted
Your account and data will be deleted within [X] business days.
Without the app, or if you no longer have access:
-
Email privacy@forkyt.com from the email or phone number associated with your account, with the subject line “Account Deletion Request”
-
Include your account’s registered phone number (or email) so we can verify and locate your account
-
We will confirm receipt within [X] business days and complete deletion within [X] business days of verifying your identity
What gets deleted
When you request account deletion, we permanently delete:
-
Your profile information (name, photo, bio)
-
Your phone number and authentication credentials
-
Your reviews, ratings, comments, and photo uploads
-
Your saved/followed lists and “Been Here” activity
-
Your friend/follow connections and social graph data
What we retain, and for how long
Some data may be retained after account deletion for the following reasons:
-
[X days/months] — backup systems may retain deleted data in encrypted backups until the normal backup rotation cycle completes
-
Legal/compliance retention — records we are required to keep for legal, tax, fraud-prevention, or security purposes (e.g., transaction logs, abuse reports) are retained for [X period] as required by law, then deleted
-
Aggregated/anonymized data — data that no longer identifies you (e.g., anonymized usage statistics) may be retained indefinitely, as it is not personal data
Partial deletion (data you can remove without deleting your account)
If you’d like to remove specific content without deleting your whole account, you can delete individual reviews, photos, or comments directly within the app under My Activity.
